I initially met Shanta while attending community college in Dallas, TX. On the first day of class I sat in the front row, and the instructor handed me the syllabus to pass back to the other students. While turning around to pass the syllabus back, I saw Shanta several seats back on about the third aisle and thought, ‘Wow! I would like to meet her. She looks beautiful.’ It might sound cliché, but there was literally a thought that flashed through my mind of how I should approach her or even if I will get an opportunity to introduce myself to her.
The next day of class I sat in my same seat, as did Shanta toward the back, then the instructor asked everyone scattered around the classroom to move up toward the front. When Shanta moved up to the front, she happened to sit in the empty seat next to me. We introduced ourselves, engaged in small talk, and have been friends ever since. Eventually we started dating; our relationship has blossomed; and now we are preparing for marriage..
